Privacy Policy — Rank Tracker (Google.co.in)

Rank Tracker ("the extension") is a Chrome browser extension that checks a website's ranking position on Google.co.in for keywords provided by the user. This policy explains what data the extension handles and how.

1. Data we collect

None. The extension has no servers, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. We never receive, collect, sell, or share any user data.

2. Data stored locally on your device

To function, the extension stores the following only in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) on your own device:

• The target domain and keywords you enter
• Your chosen search location, scan depth, and other settings
• Rank-check results and history (keyword, position, ranking URL, timestamp)
• Optional proxy settings you configure (host, port, username, password)

This data never leaves your device. You can delete the history at any time with the "Clear" button, and all data is removed when you uninstall the extension.

3. How searches work

When you start a rank check, the extension opens Google.co.in search pages in your own browser, using your own internet connection — exactly as if you had searched manually. The extension reads only the organic result links on those pages to find your domain's position. No other browsing activity is read or monitored.

4. Optional proxy feature

If you enable the optional proxy feature, searches are routed through the proxy server you configure. Your proxy credentials are stored locally and are sent only to your own proxy server for authentication. The proxy is applied only while a check is running and is removed automatically afterwards.

5. Permissions

• activeTab — auto-fill the domain field from your current tab
• tabs / scripting — open Google search pages and read result positions during a check you start
• storage — save your settings and history locally
• proxy, webRequest, webRequestAuthProvider — power the optional, user-configured proxy feature

6. Third parties

The extension communicates only with Google (to perform searches you request) and, if you enable it, your own proxy server. There are no other third parties.

7. Children's privacy

The extension does not collect data from anyone, including children.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same URL with a new "Last updated" date.
